Melton Camp 2022

On Thursday 11th August, only 5 days from returning from Poacher, we decided to do a small Unit camp at one of our local Scout Sites, Melton. The Explorers and Leaders all camped in hammocks, having tents for storage and in case the weather got bad during the night, luckily this was not the case.

What we did during the day was go and visit Welton Waters Activity Centre where we took part in Paddle Boarding and Kayaking, all Explorers and Leaders got wet from falling in but had a fantastic time taking part in activities a few of them had never tried before.

When we got back to camp we collected some fire wood, cooked our tea on a open fire, played some card games and had a lovely camp fire all set up by the Explorers. In the morning we broke camp, cleared the fire areas of ash and the site of rubbish and then we went home.
